Slaskovic wins FTOPS X Event #24 on Full-Tilt-꽁머니 환전
The Full Tilt Online 꽁머니 환전 Series neared a close this past Sunday with Event #24. This tournament was a $129 buy-in Knockout tournament with a guaranteed $500k prize pool.
The combination of the popular Knockout format and the relatively low buy-in attracted a huge field. Full Tilt Pro Erich Kollmann hosted as the number of entries reached the maximum allowable 7,000 players, with payouts awarded to the top 720 finishers. The total prize pool ended up at $700,000, with a first place finish of $136,164 awarded to eventual winner slaskovic.
Here were the chip counts heading into the final table, with well known online pro Luke Staudenmaier, aka “IWEARGOGGLES” leading the way:
- IWEARGOGGLES 9,879,511
- GabrielFortune 4,953,284
- bmm77 4,215,786
- HorningT12 4,039,186
- moneymaking78 3,257,566
- slaskovic 2,698,357
- Iceman Wins 2,680,431
- imfatandugly 2,559,249
- JAGERN 716,630
A key hand for slaskovic happened with 8 players left and blinds at 100k/200k, antes of 25K. Sitting in the big blind with 3.25 million chips, he called an all in by IWEARGOGGLES. Slaskovic’s 99 held up against A7o, giving his stack a huge boost. As play progressed to heads up, slaskovic eventually won out when his AKo beat HorningT12′s QTo, giving him the title and the big payday.
This past Sunday saw the climax of the FTOPS X series. The $500 + $35 NL Hold’em Main Event attracted 5,225 players, beating out the guaranteed $2,500,000 prize pool to $2,612,500. Of the 5,225, 63 were red pros, all vying for their chance at the Main Event victory. Only a fraction of the hopefuls, 728 to be exact, landed in the money and only one walked away with the $450,708.50 first place prize – Julian Verse.
Only 11 of the red pros finished within the money, Nordberg finishing the best in 17th place. The others were Michael Craig (62nd), HuckleberrySeed (242nd), Steve Zolotow (259th), Sandra Naujoks (285th), dmmikkel (329th), PearlJammed (410th), Leandro Brasa (488th), Eddy Scharf (503rd), Josh Arieh (566th), and Fabrice Soulier (659th).
The event was hosted by Scott Montgomery, who was part of the famed November Nine and finished in a respectable 5th place in the WSOP Main Event. To date he has over $4 million in career tournament winnings, but his experience didn’t help him this time around as he finished in 4600th place.
The final hand came between sckilla and Julian Verse. Sckilla held 6d-2c and Julian Qc-7s, when the board played out Jd-10h-8s-7c-5s. Sckilla was sent home in 2nd place while Julian Verse walked away wtih first!
Congratulations to all who played!
